2018 marks the centenary of the Representation of the People Act (1918) that granted partial voting rights for British women, something Muriel fought very hard to achieve. There are many things planned in the UK to celebrate this occasion and, for Muriel Matters Society members in the UK, it is well worth bookmarking the website of Jill Liddington that is a good resource for many of the events that are to take place for Votes 100.
The UK Parliament also has a website where Vote 100 information can be found and don’t forget to use the hashtag #Vote100 if you are on Twitter!
The Muriel Matters Society looks forward to Votes 100 with a great deal of excitement! If Australian members of the Society are visiting the UK in 2018 this will also be a celebration worthwhile getting involved in!
