As many members know from the recent newsletter, The Muriel Matters Society Inc. is involved in the Centre of Democracy’s ‘Soapbox for Democracy’ that will be operating on North Terrace during the Fringe in 2018. Following in the footsteps of politicians from all periods, key figures from South Australian history will appear on a soapbox before street audiences in an attempt to win them over. This project has helped by The Centre of Democracy, Joanne Hartstone, performers from Flinders University, and Frances Bedford MP JP. For more information on the Fringe event click here.
If members can spare a couple of hours it would be a wonderful way to participate in the Fringe, help the community, and keep it free for all! Volunteering for multiple nights/days is appreciated.
