Location Named in Honour of Muriel Matters: Matters Street, Denman Prospect (Canberra, Australia)

The Society is pleased to announce that Muriel Matters will have a road named after her in the nation’s capital. The newly created Canberra suburb of Denman Prospect features ‘Matters Street’ in line with the Society’s street-naming theme, ‘Activism and Reform’.

Muriel’s legacy will stand alongside other prominent Australians, and streets will be named after them in this area. The Muriel Matters Society thinks these may be the luckiest residents in the country. Thank you to the ACT Place Names Officer Sharon Priestly for working with The Society to make this happen!
