(2019) Highgate School, South Australia.
As part of the 125th Anniversary Celebrations of Women’s Suffrage in South Australia, the Department of Education held a competition for schools.
The task was to produce a video answering the following question:
What was life like for women in the 1880s and 1890s before Women’s Suffrage and why did so many people believe it needed to change?
The winning entry in the the year 6 and 7 multimodal category was Highgate School. Congratulations!
It’s great to see the struggle for female suffrage in South Australia being recreated by school-age students – costumes and all!! The Society congratulates all the students and teachers involved in this video as well as all to the many others who participated in the competition across the state. We acknowledge the that the Department for Education owns this film and that credit goes to Highgate School for the production.
