The MMS Book Launch: In Pictures!

Thanks to everyone who came to the Naval, Military and Air Force Club of SA on 7 November 2020 for the MMS book launch! It was a wonderful event with over 60 attendees hearing all about how the book came to be. The Secretary of the MMS, Frances Bedford MP, compared the event and there were a number of wonderful talks on the day from Dr Jane Lomax Smith, Mark Thomson, Professor Marnie Hughes-Warrington, and Dr Collette Snowden. The Society’s Secretary, Frances Bedford MP, compared the event.
Professor Marnie Hughes-Warrington, Deputy Vice Chancellor (Research and Enterprise) at UniSA, gave a stirring speech to launch the book on Muriel’s life and its relevance to today.
Dr Collette Snowden, the author of the monograph, outlined to the audiences her process and background to the book’s creation.

Mark Thomson organized the graphics and typesetting of the book gave his perspective on the work.

Longstanding friends of The Society, Marie and Chris Maddocks, became life members. The President of The Society, Robin Matters, was on hand to present them with their certificates. Congrats Marie and Chris!
